FAQ's - For Members

What is expected of Coalition for a Better Memphis members?
Business members, organization members, and contributing members are all expected to provide volunteers to participate in the activities of the CBM, including the candidate interviews and ratings process. Additionally, members are expected to help promote the CBM ratings guide through their own internal publications.

How can I get involved with the Coalition for a Better Memphis? Can I become involved with the Coalition for a Better Memphis as an individual?
The CBM is always seeking new members. Please contact Peggy Callahan, the CBM Executive Director, for more information. Membership dues are based upon the type and size of your organization. Individuals can join as a contributing member. Like other contributing members, individuals will be expected to pay membership dues and to participate in CBM activities, including candidate interviews and the ratings process.

How does the Coalition for a Better Memphis determine if it is successful?
The CBM hopes that over time, more and more voters will turn to the CBM to educate themselves about the local candidates and issues before the voters get to the voting booth. Eventually, the CBM would like to see an increase in the average score of the candidates from each election. The citizens of Memphis and Shelby County deserve highly-qualified elected officials to represent them.
